About Katrijn
I'm Katrijn Roefs, a half-South African, half-Dutch Mathematics and Physics student. I speak Afrikaans and English at a native level, and Dutch at a B2 level. In South Africa, I completed secondary school and obtained my National Senior Certificate, with an 8 in physics and a 9 in mathematics. During my time at school, I also completed my Cambridge AS and A-levels in both physics and mathematics, furthering my dream of studying in Leiden. I love sharing my knowledge of these subjects and helping students not only prepare for exams but also truly understand the underlying concepts.

I have a very practical approach to learning and am convinced that the only way to truly learn math and physics is through practice. Therefore, my lessons focus primarily on providing additional exercises, so that the material is not just memorized but truly understood. I first focus on ensuring the student understands the basic concepts, and then I focus on extensive practice with the material. Furthermore, I have a great passion for the beauty of math and physics, and I love helping students develop that same curiosity and interest. I am a sociable and patient person, and I enjoy explaining things and working with young students. My specialty is international curricula such as the Cambridge GCSE and the International Baccalaureate (IB). However, I also have a good understanding of Dutch secondary school curricula, as my studies at Leiden University are designed to align with them. LESSONS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH ONLY
