About Max
Hi, I'm Max! I'm a first (going into second) year university student studying maths. I graduated from Dulwich College in 2021, achieving A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and German (proof of qualifications can be provided upon request). I'm a passionate, approachable and hard working student, looking to help anyone who may be struggling with the subject (or is looking to advance beyond their syllabus).
In my free time I enjoy reading, practicing piano and drums and playing sports (like Muay Thai, Table Tennis and Squash).

I believe that a strong conceptual understanding of required material is essential to excel in maths and physics. This is the priority of my lessons, and supplementary questions are given to help implement and thereby reinforce all acquired understanding.
Confidence is also a key factor in academic performance, and having recently gone through the procession of GCSEs and A-Levels I am excellent at empathising with pupils and their anxieties. This helps me provide a calm, non-judgmental learning environment perfectly geared towards building up the confidence and abilities of my students.
Finally I believe in the importance of asking questions and encourage all of my students to question and ask whenever they encounter material they're unsure on, or simply have something they want to know; curiosity is to be celebrated!
A typical lesson would be an hour long and involve going over relevant material before solidifying understanding via curated and targeted practice questions.
