About Jessica
I am currently working towards a Mechanical Engineering degree at McGill University. I love working with students in math, physics, and chemistry, since these are areas of interest for me. I was selected to tutor high school students in grades 8 through 12 through a program at my high school. I have received awards of excellency in science, leadership, and math.

I like to introduce new concepts by first contextualizing main ideas and applications of what we will discuss, to engage students in the subject. Then, I introduce the concept by emphasizing the main ideas or rules of the concept in a clear and concise manner. When it comes to teaching a scientific theory or mathematical technique, I always find it really helpful to work through multiple examples with the students to show them the application of what we are learning. For example, when introducing a scientific model, I would want to first explain why we need a model to illustrate the specific phenomena in the first place, then highlight the main ideas of the theory, then work through scenarios where we can use the model to describe observed phenomena.
