About Amethyst
I am a first-year Medical student at Newcastle University, who loves all things Biology and Chemistry.
I also have a completed BSc Biomedical Sciences degree (from The University of Manchester).
I hold A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish.
My recent academic studies have been mainly in Human Anatomy and physiology but I still enjoy teaching Chemistry at GCSE level.
Medical School Admissions Help Available
- I scored in the top 3% of the population in the UCAT admissions test (taken in 2018) and I am very happy to provide tutoring for this as well. This is an essential part of most medical school applications.
- I received 4 interviews from all of UCAS university choices and can help potential students with both personal statement writing and interview preparation.

I enjoy explaining concepts to students in imaginative and fun ways.
I also enjoy helping a student that may be struggling with something in particular, as I find it incredibly rewarding once they understand it!
I teach by first explaining and teaching a topic, and then setting questions of varying levels of difficulty for the student to work through on their own.
