About Shaminy
Hi, my name is Shaminy. I’m an Accounting and Finance student at the University of Bristol and my mission is to help students grow a passion for learning by making it fun and enjoyable.
Mathematics is a subject I initially hated. I’d find large problems overwhelming and confusing. Only after learning to work through each part of the question separately did things start to click - in time, getting questions right gave me a sense of satisfaction and reward; this is where my passion for maths truly began. This boosted my confidence in the subject which ultimately encouraged me to study it at A-level.
I also studied Chemistry, which it shared the same problem solving aspect that I grew to love. Alongside Maths and Chemistry, I studied Biology also. Almost everything we enjoy on a day-to-day basis is thanks to the advancements of science and this is what made these subjects so engaging for me.
I aim to share my love for these subjects with tutees while making my sessions a safe space where students can feel comfortable voicing questions and queries they may have. I will help my students gain a solid understanding of the content and ensure they are able to answer exam questions with guided practice to achieve top grades in exams.

Practice makes perfect, so our lessons will consist of lots of exam practice to master exam techniques as well as to better understand content.
The lesson will usually be 1 hour but it will be as fun and interactive as possible.
I have had 2 years of private tutoring experience beforehand so I know all the tips and tricks to teaching
