About Harris
I am a dedicated maths and music tutor with nearly 100 lessons taught and over a year of experience. My passion for both subjects drives my approach to teaching, where I aim to inspire a genuine understanding and enjoyment of learning. I have always had a deep love for maths, which led me to pursue it at A-level, where I achieved an A*. My interest in engineering has also sparked a hobby in 3D part design and 3D printing.
Alongside my love for maths, I am a passionate musician currently studying music at university. I play saxophone, drums, and bass guitar, and enjoy composing and arranging music for big band ensembles. This blend of creativity and logical thinking shapes my teaching style, making lessons both engaging and structured.
I believe that learning should be enjoyable and that every student can succeed with the right guidance and support. My goal is to help students build confidence in their abilities, whether they're working towards top grades or simply trying to improve their understanding.

I understand how overwhelming it can feel when schools rush through subjects, leaving students needing more time to fully grasp the material. My goal is to bridge those gaps by ensuring a deep understanding of each topic before moving on. Together, we'll create a tailored revision plan so that progress can be easily tracked, giving students a sense of achievement as they tick off each topic.
Each session begins with a few starter questions based on the previous lesson, to reinforce understanding. We will then move on to the next topic on the revision plan, where I will guide students through examples step-by-step, progressing from working together on problems to having them independently solve questions while explaining their reasoning. This ensures a thorough understanding before moving forward.
The structure of lessons is flexible – we can focus on specific areas like homework or reviewing mock exams to provide personalized feedback.
