About Raheema
I'm Raheema, a first class Biology graduate, who trained as a science teacher at Oxford university. My teaching experience covers both individual and group settings, both online and in-person. Through this, I have tailored my teaching styles to maximise my resources and my students' academic abilities. I carry these experiences forward to personalise a learning journey for my students, so that they can thrive in their exams, but also beyond school too.

I enjoy the breadth and depth of science, appreciating how different topics are inter-connected. When I teach, I like to emphasise these synoptic links to help embed the content into my students’ long term memories and to offer them a more holistic understanding of the subject. I strongly believe that a thorough understanding provides the foundation for confidently and accurately answering exam questions.
I encourage my students to connect with science by relating it to their daily lives, so that the content is more meaningful and applicable to them. I like to simplify complex ideas by mapping them out using diagrams to help my students visualise new concepts and to see the wider context.
I complement my teaching with frequent exam question practice, ensuring students hand-write their answers under timed conditions, to fully familiarise themselves with the exam.
It is important for me to identify my tutees’ individual goals and to tailor my lessons to suit their needs. I really look forward to developing a strong rapport with my students, so that they feel comfortable asking any questions to maximise their learning experience.
