About Katherine
I'm a high school senior in Pasadena, accumulating over 10 Advanced Placement classes and keeping a perfect GPA over four years. I also attend classes at my local community college and UCLA for psychology and medicine. I have a verve for spreading education around my community.
I have tutored the local middle school Science Olympiad for the last five years and now volunteer at a research facility at UCLA. My mentorship experiences range from teaching elementary students arithmetic to making English presentations for adults in China.
I pride myself in communication, as I have been a member of the San Marino debate team my whole high school career, ranked top 60 in the nation for extemporaneous debate.

My approach as a tutor focuses on clear explanations and real-life application. I use examples and active practice to make concepts stick.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check of understanding, followed by targeted teaching and guided problem-solving. I emphasize the “why” behind answers and end with a short recap and next steps.
I have a combination of strong academic skills and mentoring experience - I have taught several students before of all age ranges. I create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions.
My lessons are best suited for elementary to middle school students, especially in math and analytical subjects like debate or STEM coursework.
