About João Rafael
Fundamentally, I teach musical perception before going through theory exercises. The student can get used to the instrument as if it were an extension of their body, and the rest of the learning flows naturally. When the motor coordination consolidates, and the muscular memory builds up, the chords come naturally, and the possibilities start to pop up. When the student is confident, I introduce songs of their own choice into the class to show them the fundamentals of music theory.

I am a student of Biological Sciences at UFSC, but since I was a child I was raised in a musical environment. Today, I have a great friend, musician Marcos Ganzo, keyboardist of the bands Da Rua and Têmpera, in the 80s and 90s in Florianópolis. Marcos is building a home studio where we always gather friends to jam together. Everyone can learn something new, suggest a song, and get used to the instrument in their own time, be it the keyboard, the drums, the guitar or the bass. I've worked as a private guitar teacher in Florianópolis, and now I want to go back to teaching musical lessons for people who have only one requirement: the love for music!!
