About Zian
I am a flute tutor who enjoys guiding students on their musical journey with creativity and skill. My teaching combines mentorship, accountability, and critical thinking. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while encouraging self-expression. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training for complete musicianship. I teach flute with a focus on creativity, critical thinking, and structured learning. I believe students learn best when they are curious, supported, and challenged. Each lesson is designed to help students understand music deeply while developing technical skill. I act as a mentor, guiding students to explore sound, phrasing, and rhythm. Accountability is central—I help students set goals and take responsibility for practice. Lessons include tone exercises, breath work, rhythm drills, and expressive playing. I also teach theory, sight-reading, and ear training to strengthen understanding. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, composition, and personal interpretation.
Mistakes are seen as steps towards improvement, not failure. My teaching is flexible to suit different learning styles and skill levels. I emphasise reflection, self-evaluation, and problem-solving in each class. I provide positive feedback to build confidence and motivation. I also teach related subjects like music theory and performance skills. Each lesson is structured to balance discipline with fun. My goal is to help students develop into confident, independent, and expressive musicians.
