About Bao
Transmission of ideas is the key to a better world. And these ideas need to open our minds to our own stories.
Learning a language is not only about words, it is also a way for humankind to remember the past.
My name is Bao. I was born in Vietnam and raised in France. It was not obvious for me to like books. The ones at school were not so boring but they were unreachable. I discovered Madame Bovary, Flaubert's masterpiece that changed everything.
I love classical books but also the modern ones. From Agatha Christie to John Steinbeck. From Annie Ernaux to Virginie Despentes.
My most recent book is a Canadian essay from indigenous Harold R. Johnson who questions how stories guided and influenced our vision of the colonial questions.
My strength as a French tutor is my passion for words but also my capacity to adapt to student needs.
As part of tutoring, I'm working as a cook in a health care company in Nelson, BC.
