About Tejas
I thoroughly enjoy teaching! Sharing information with others and seeing them learn about and fall in love with something you, as a tutor, are deeply connected to is an exceptionally rewarding and profound experience! As for my history with tennis, I started playing when I was 9. At one point, I was ranked in the top 5 in the Southern Division, top 50 in the nation, and was an All-Around Freshman in my conference for collegiate tennis. I’ve coached for the better half of a decade, worked with all ages and levels, and am looking forward to (hopefully) coaching you as well!

My primary concern is you, and how you would like to learn! Each person I’ve had the pleasure of teaching has been vastly different from the others, whether it be how they hold the racket, their swing, movement, or style of play; their unique traits determine my method of teaching. All of that to say, a typical lesson plan will vary, yet technical instruction (i.e., how to pronate), rallying, and games will be part and parcel of each lesson! What I believe sets me apart from other tutors is my experience as a student. I’ve played tennis for 13 years and taught it for 6, which has helped me understand the value of patience, effort, and fun! I’ve learned that, as a student, one’s uphill battles can often stem from a disengaged or uninterested coach/tutor; thus, as a teacher, I believe it is paramount to do more than "show up" to foster engagement. I offer lessons to all skill levels and ages, and if you are at the college/professional level and would simply like a hitting partner, I can do that as well!
