About Caitlin
Hi! I'm a former Elementary Teacher. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I have lots of strategies for teaching Phonics at all ages, which is great for those who are very new to English. I've taught math, reading, and writing at all of those grade levels as well. On top of my knowledge of elementary education, I can definitely help Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers with English papers and organization skills as well!
I'm here to support you and your needs, and I will be flexible with you as well. I want to support you where you feel you need it most, so that you feel like you've got your two feet under you and are set up for success. If you are interested in using me as a tutor, please email me at: (concealed information) OR follow me on Instagram and DM at: @tutoringcait

Tutoring sessions will be about an hour to an hour and a half. Each time, we will spend the first 10 minutes or so discussing how school is going and what tasks are on the schedule for the week. If we meet a couple times a week or more than just once a week, this can be shorter than then minutes. After that, I will introduce the strategies most effective for whatever the student and I identify as the highest priority task. We will always create an outline of the task together, meaning I probe with questions as the student then comes to their own ideas and understandings. When the outline is created, this is where my guidance on organization comes in. We will discuss different graphic organizers and ways to organize our thoughts in the most appropriate manner for each different task. Then, the last 10 minutes, I will let the student begin the task based off of the outline they made, and I will be there if they have any more questions. Obviously this breakdown and the methods and strategies will vary depending on the student, and I am more than happy to be flexible depending on student need as well!
