About Kay
Hi, my name is Kay, and I earned my BA in Theater, concentrating in Costume Design & Production, with a minor in Art. I have just finished a three-year stint teaching visual arts at a competitive, audition-based arts high school. While I needed to take a break from the classroom environment, there are fewer things in life that I get more joy from than passing on my knowledge to the next generation of artists! I have experience teaching both beginner and advanced young artists, as well as guiding students to passing the AP 2-D Studio Art & Design exam, as well as being accepted to some of the nation's premier art universities, such as SAIC, SCAD, and Pratt.
No matter where you are in your artistic journey, I am more than happy to help you grow in your skills!

As a former high school visual arts educator, I have numerous prepared lessons on the following subjects: drawing with graphite pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, fineliner pens, etc; painting with oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, India ink, etc; life and clothing drawing; composition skills including elements/principles of design and perspective; and AP 2-D Studio Art & Design portfolio development.
My lessons are suitable for high school students, college students, and any adults that want to improve their art skills! For students that are currently enrolled in art classes through your school or university, I am also available to advise on your current project artworks.
