About Phil
Former rhythm guitarist for folk and rock bands with 6 years of experience teaching guitar both in schools and for private tutoring. I have taught many different subjects and provided tutoring to students between ages 12-25. Guitar is by far my favorite subject to teach, and I have found that students connect with the interactive and fun structure of my lessons.

My approach is to start with chords, introducing new concepts by playing songs that progress in difficulty. As we introduce new chords and strum patterns, we will apply the skills to real songs rather than boring exercises. Along with learning proper technique and hand positions, I will teach you how to read chords as well as sing along with the songs we play, if you so desire. Ideal for beginners.
Typically, I do 30 min lessons, but I am flexible based on your needs.
