About Terry-Leigh
I have a doctorate in Computational and Applied Mathematics and served as an academic/lecturer in this field for 9 years. I have always been passionate about using creative techniques for teaching the Mathematical Sciences and am eager to transfer some of my skills to students who are in need on this platform.

My teaching methodology is centered around teaching without making assumptions about what my students may or may not know, and relating the topic closely to some relevant real-world phenomenon so as to better assist the students with grasping the concepts by making connections easily, based on existing knowledge.

Terry was my Applied Mathematics lecturer at Wits University, teaching a very complicated course called Optimisation but she broke down the concepts in a way that was very easy to grasp. With English not being my first language, already that’s a challenge but she managed to convert complex terminology to what was easily understandable and digestible. The only course I got a distinction at Wits.
