About Warren
As a tournament player, I played in the Armed Forces Championship for the Army in 1972 and won the title of Mississippi Champion on leaving the service in 1973. My rating reached over 2100. I was the editor of the Mississippi Chess Association's bi-monthly publication for over six years. I have visited schools on many occasions to teach chess, play simultaneous games, or assist in their tournaments. I also taught for a week at a camp run by Chess USA.

My lessons are flexible in that we may go over the student's games or classical games that can help the student. I would also go over openings, tactics, and endgame techniques as needed.
After an active tournament career that included being the Mississippi Champion, I ran at least one scholastic tournament a year for thirteen years and assisted in many tournaments after that. I have hundreds of annotated games from them I use in lessons. Whether you are just getting started or are preparing for a tournament, I can give you a head start.
I am looking for students with a US Chess rating less than 1400 or unrated.
