About Wai hlyan
Hello! I’m Wai Hlyan, a second-year Biology student at Northumbria University, having previously studied Medical Bioscience at Monash University. My academic journey has given me a solid foundation across both the life and physical sciences. I achieved A grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics* and received High Distinctions in Chemistry and Statistics, reflecting my strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Although I am new to formal tutoring, I have often helped classmates and younger students understand challenging topics by breaking them down into simple, logical steps. My goal is to make learning clear, enjoyable, and confidence-building. I take pride in my patience, organisation, and ability to adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning style. I am deeply passionate about helping students succeed in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Statistics, particularly at GCSE and A-Level. As a second-year Biology student at Northumbria University and former Medical Bioscience student at Monash, I bring a strong scientific and mathematical foundation to my lessons. Having achieved A* in Maths and Further Maths and High Distinctions in Chemistry and Statistics, I focus on helping students understand concepts deeply rather than memorising them. My lessons are typically 60 minutes long, structured around identifying weak areas, explaining key ideas clearly, and then practising exam-style questions to build confidence and accuracy. I use a mix of step-by-step problem-solving, visual explanations, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts easier to grasp. My sessions are ideal for GCSE and A-Level students preparing for exams in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Statistics.
