About Chris
At 11 years old, I borrowed my brother's rangefinder camera. In high school I almost always carried a camera. Never took a class in photography, but spent hours in the darkroom. In NYC, I met Christopher Morris who taught me journalistic street photography. At that time I worked at a picture framing shop that showed the importance of cropping and composition. I joined a team shooting still life images for Cosmair and Clairol, teaching that correct color was key to selling hair tints for their dyes. I continued on my own mostly shooting portraits in studio with lighting I created. A friend from church connected me with a top advertising photographer in the 90’s, Brad Guice, who did many location shoots for major clients. I traveled with him for a dozen years until I moved here to the Charlotte area. Lately I have focused on retouching, which is the one thing that I enjoyed the most.
