About Vic
Former Division I thrower at Princeton University offering 1-on-1 coaching in discus, shot put, hammer throw, and strength training. Currently a software engineering manager by trade.
As a high school athlete, I ranked among the top discus throwers in New Jersey and nationally, breaking school records while competing against and alongside future Olympians. I was recruited by all 8 Ivy League schools along with programs including Stanford, Duke, MIT, and the University of Chicago before choosing Princeton.
At Princeton, I trained under former Olympian Fred Samara, who competed in the 1976 Olympics alongside Caitlyn Jenner, and alongside Olympian Julia Ratcliffe of New Zealand.

While I coach throwing technique and strength development, my larger goal is to help athletes build the mindset required to succeed in competition, academics, careers, and beyond. The throws taught me discipline, resilience, composure under pressure, and how to pursue difficult goals over long periods of time - lessons I still carry today in my professional career.
Training includes throwing technique, event-specific drills, strength programming, Olympic lifting, plyometrics, and competition preparation. I am also open to attending meets when schedules allow to provide live coaching and feedback during competition.
Technique is the foundation of successful throwing, which is why athletes who start younger often develop more efficiently over time. My preference is to work with experienced throwers in 9th grade and above, though I am also willing to work with athletes as young as 7th grade if they are completely new to the throwing events and looking to build strong fundamentals early.
Due to my full-time career and the individualized attention each athlete deserves, I can only coach 3-5 athletes at a time. I am looking to work with athletes who are ambitious, coachable, and committed to long-term improvement.
