About Bill
I had a hard time understanding and learning math up through high school, and I know how difficult, painful, unfair, and pointless it can seem to have to slog through one seemingly random topic after another just to get the whole thing over with. That's what math meant to me until I returned to it because I wanted to understand science.
When I approached math with a solid reason and an open mind, I started to see it for what it really was and fell in love with the precision, scope, and clarity that could be achieved with it, and the fundamental simplicity and ingenuity of its structure.
I worked through calculus in college and have returned to mathematics and its history again and again as independent study in the years since. Now I hope I can make a career helping others find a source of confidence and pride in mathematics, even if they're struggling with it now.

I am currently open to consulting in prealgebra only, but there's much more to come!
I believe that learning takes place best in a relaxed and friendly but focused environment, and that's what I want to provide for my clients. Let's build skills and confidence together with a minimum of pain and stress, and prealgebra a journey of discovery and mastery.
I don't currently have a set lesson plan. I want to hear from you about where you are now in your learning and what you're having difficulty with so we can build a bridge from what you know to what you need to learn, and focus on your unique needs and strengths as a math learner.
I know that learning math isn't easy for everyone because for a long time it wasn't easy for me. I remember what it was like to struggle and what it finally took for me to fall in love with mathematics, and I know that the learning experience is different for everyone. Let's make your learning experience as rewarding as possible and get you to where you want to be in math.
I'll be happy to work with prealgebra students at any age, whether they are taking their first prealgebra class in middle school or a college refresher. I'm committed to doing the best I can for anyone who asks for help.
Since I am currently just trying to get my start, I will be charging as close to nothing as possible. Consider this a risk-free opportunity to work on your prealgebra skills with a friendly teammate who is learning along with you.
