About Tara

I have taught in many settings over many years. I value education at every level, and believe that a good education does not teach someone what to think - it teaches one HOW to think. All students are individuals, and as such deserve respect, compassion, and a quality education that nurtures their potential and empowers them for the future.

About the lesson

I take time to get to know my students personally so I can learn what teaching methods benefit them most. I direct my teaching toward junior high and high school ages, as I enjoy shaping young minds and helping them set a path for future success.
A typical lesson from me would involve:
Reading material (as appropriate for the student)
Evaluation of the material by question/answer
Demonstration of knowledge
Concepts to be covered would include the scientific method, scientific terminology, conducting experiments and interpreting data, discoveries in science, and understanding how to use lab equipment.
I have some background in special education, and am able to adapt lessons and teaching methods to support differently abled students, so I can meet them at their level of learning.
