About Lauren
I have tutored in all high school mathematics (Algebra through Calculus), guiding students through steps and questions, building upon their prior knowledge and giving them the confidence they need to solve similar mathematics problems. I have taught Algebra and Geometry with the principle in mind that anyone can learn and do mathematics, even the students who believed they can't. Everyone needs encouragement to achieve their goals.

Teaching a new concept, I always engage students with their prior knowledge, helping them build upon what they already know. If there are any misconceptions, I always begin with asking what is confusing students and then ask what they already know about the problem. From there, I will probe them to demonstrate they already know the answer just need a little guidance.
