The first 30 minutes are free, and the initial session will be one hour long. During that time, I will work one on one with your child to get to know them and assess their needs. I will also spend time with parents during this first session to gather important background information. Each child will have their own personalized folder. Together, we will go over key questions, such as whether your child wears glasses, has shown signs of dyslexia, or if there is a family history of dyslexia or vision challenges like nearsightedness or farsightedness. This information helps guide our focus. For example, if your child is struggling with vowel sounds, we will concentrate on that. If they need support with sight words, that will be our priority. Every child is unique, so each lesson is thoughtfully tailored to meet their individual needs. After the first session, parents are welcome to run errands or step out while we are working. I simply ask that for the initial session, at least one parent is present so we can go over important information together. I do not offer half-hour sessions, as that is not enough time for a child to fully engage and focus. Sessions are structured with your child in mind, including short two to five-minute breaks every 20 minutes, especially for younger children who are used to being active and moving around.
