About Laura
I have the reading added authorization from the state of California and have over 400 hours of training in literacy and structured literacy instruction based on the science of reading. I have been a teacher for 22 years and a reading specialist for 14 years. I currently work as the literacy specialist at a charter school.

I have worked as a reading specialist for 12 years in elementary schools, as well as in private tutoring. I am currently a literacy specialist at a charter school. I have reading certification from the state of California as well as over 400 hours of training in reading and literacy instruction and structured literacy based on the science of reading. I absolutely believe that all children can learn to read with the correct instruction. I use a structured explicit reading program as the basis for all my instruction which is based on the Orton Gillingham method. I use assessment and data analysis to decide the literacy needs of my students.
