About Gauthier

Hi,
I'm Gauthier. I was born and raised in France near Paris, where I studied literature for 3 years (Henri IV - Baccalauréat) and fine and applied arts for 5 years (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris - Master), degrees that I got with congratulations. I just moved to Montreal this summer to start a PhD artistic and literary project at UQAM.

I have experience in tutoring French lessons both to foreign students (Erasmus) and French people.

About the lesson

Lessons can be for anyone, from teenagers to adults, without distinction of level as I will adapt to your needs.
We will start with simple conversations and see if we must focus on some points.

We can work on oral comprehension and expression as well as writing comprehension and expression.
Depending on your interests, I may suggest French movies, series or radio podcast easy to understand and that will get your ear used to French.
If you want we can focus on specific points : Candidature, CV, Lettre de motivation and so on.

We can work on getting a France-French accent as well. Yet, experience taught me that part is not a priority : the more comfortable you feel with conversation, and the more fluent you are, the easier it is to focuson pronunciation rather than finding your words.

Perfect! Gauthier is very approachable and friendly. He is extremely knowledgeable on the French language and is always keen to answer questions. He has pushed me out of comfort zone by welcoming conversation even when I did not believe I was able to communicate at a high enough level. Would definitely recommend !

My level of french is intermediate, so my lessons consist of mostly conversation practise and pausing occasionally to address mistakes I have made. He is very generous with his time and has also helped my French writing through providing corrections to my emails. I would highly recommend.
