About Domitille

I’m a French-American costume designer, tailor, and stylist originally from Paris, now based in Los Angeles. I was born and raised in France and French is my native language. I’m also completely fluent in English, so I understand both sides of the experience of learning and communicating in another language.

I have an MFA in Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon University and work professionally in film, television, theater, fashion, and live performance. My work takes me into many different creative environments. I’m naturally curious about people, cultures, and the world around me.

I’m warm, patient, and conversational by nature, and I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds. I don’t believe you need to be afraid of making mistakes when learning a language. In fact, making mistakes is one of the best ways to learn!

Whether you want to learn French for travel, reconnect with the language, communicate with French-speaking friends or family, explore French culture, or simply become more comfortable speaking, I’d love to help you make French a language you actually enjoy using :)

About the lesson

I offer relaxed, personalized French conversation lessons designed to help you feel comfortable actually speaking French.

I’m a native French speaker from Paris, and I’m also fluent in English, so I understand the challenges that come with learning to communicate in another language. My lessons focus primarily on conversation and real-life French rather than memorizing endless grammar rules.

Depending on your level and goals, we can talk about everyday life, travel, culture, food, fashion, films, current events, or anything that genuinely interests you. I’ll help you expand your vocabulary, improve your pronunciation, understand natural expressions, and become more confident speaking spontaneously.

While conversation is at the heart of my lessons, I can also help you develop your reading, listening, and writing skills. We can work with French texts, articles, songs, films, or other materials that interest you, and use them as a way to build vocabulary, improve comprehension, and practice expressing yourself naturally in French.

Whether you’re starting from the beginning, already understand French but struggle to speak, or simply want to maintain and improve your conversational skills, I’ll adapt each lesson to you!
