About Laura

I am a third year Media and Communication student at the University of Leeds, and I am about to do a master’s in public Relations in September. I am passionate about communication, theatre, languages, literature but also anything to do with marketing, corporate communication and public relations.

I lived abroad from a very young age until I was nine, after which I studied in France where I obtained my International Option of Baccalaureate (OIB). Although my native language is French, these experiences abroad have allowed me to master English and Spanish. The advantage of learning with a French student living in the UK is that not only am I accustomed to the requirements of both the French and English educational systems, but I am also very understanding and modern in my approach to teaching.

I loved being able to give private English and French lessons in high school. I am very enthusiastic and eager to repeat this experience and share my current knowledge. It is not only grammar that I teach but also immersion in French culture and communication. As I am curious, I would also like to discover many things with you.

About the lesson

Hello!

My name is Laura. I essentially work with young people or teenagers who can communicate in French but are unhappy with their verbal expression or comprehension (not fluent enough, lack of confidence, accent not allowing to be well understood etc.).

I offer to accompany you, in private French lessons, until you are comfortable speaking the language.

I believe that learning should be fun, so I offer you subjects that appeal to you. For example, if you like literature, I use an French novel that suits your level. Rather than mastering sophisticated grammar, my method stresses the development of fluent expression and a proper accent. In practice, speaking with me is also lot more enjoyable than learning passively in a classroom. And when you enjoy studying something, you generally progress considerably faster!
