About David

Born into a bilingual family and having lived in my youth in the United States, I subsequently joined a Grande Ecole de Commerce (ESSEC), then worked as director of a startup accelerator in Austin (TX). Installed for 3 years in Australia, I created and managed a company there since 2018. I also taught English in Indonesia between 2014 and 2018 during humanitarian volunteering.

About the lesson

My methodology is based above all on a personalized curriculum, adapted to the skills and objectives of the student.
The first lesson will be used to define these parameters.

- To improve conversational fluency, a course will generally include a vocabulary list sent beforehand to the student and some questions to prepare for a discussion during the course. At the end of the course, I will share some video recommendations to familiarize the student with the rhythm of a current conversation in English. Finally, we will define together the subject of the following course, in order to maintain the student's interest at the highest.

- For a grammatical, syntactic and written improvement, I am particularly in favor of a written exchange in the form of small dissertations, where each student's answer will be corrected during the course and for which I would write an answer myself to introduce a new subject, by adding certain instructions (temporality, vocabulary, type of sentence, elements of language to be used).
The objective is to create a continuous conversation with the student, allowing him to improve his writing but also to develop his critical thinking and to tackle new subjects.

Finally, maintaining the student's motivation and setting up a routine for practicing the English language are my priorities. This is why I use a short format and a strong follow-up during my lessons: this avoids the boredom of the student and the demotivation in the face of too much information, while ensuring the regularity of the practice in an interesting environment, which greatly promotes the assimilation of the language.
