About Owen
I’m Owen, I’m 33 years old and based in Cardiff, Wales. I'm a French graduate and PGCE qualified teacher. I'm multilingual - my first language is Welsh and I speak, English, French and some Spanish.
My love of languages started at school which is why I went on to study French at Cardiff University, graduating in 2013. I developed my language skills by studying in Nantes on the Erasmus Programme and working in Bordeaux on the Leonardo Programme.
I went on to become a secondary school French teacher but now enjoy sharing my passion for French as a private tutor.

Lessons last an hour and are aimed towards KS3, GCSE, A Level and Adult students. I'm a French Graduate, a Qualified Teacher and have 4 years experience as a teacher and tutor.
When teaching school pupils lessons can be focused on developing general language skills or exam practice using past papers. For my GCSE and A Level students I can provide tailored lessons based on either specific topics or language skills or both. Generally I will begin with a recap of previous lessons then introduce and practice new vocabulary and finish by testing to see what has been learned. I like to use technology and incorporate interactive tasks to make the lessons fun and engaging.
In my lessons for Adults I try to focus on speaking and listening as these are the main skills when using a language. I use a range of tasks in my lessons, especially ones that mimic real life situations. I like to follow course books and use my own resources and build knowledge gradually. Whether you would like to learn the language for leisure, travel or work purposes I will provide the support necessary to build your confidence, vocabulary and fluency. Lessons will be well prepared and run at your won pace.
