As a mature and proactive member of our school 6th form, Ebun offered regular assistance with a lower set Y7 history class. Her voluntary role involved circulating the room to target individual students who needed help in understanding content and with their literacy needs. Whilst it was a small class of no more than 14 students, they each had individual and sometimes demanding needs, which Ebun was able to identify and deal with accordingly.

Ebun's creative way of teaching not only explains concepts and events in a way that is easy to understand, it also makes the subject more interesting. She lays it out like a story, rather than a list of facts. This way her students are constantly engaged and curious. She makes use of metephors and is always finding ways to ensure her students have a way of relating to the subject matter and can see large statistics in proportion.
Ebun is patient; she works with her students at their own pace (not hers) and supports their development in a motivating way. She has the unique ability percieve feelings and situations accurately; is extremely sociable and likeable, but she's also assertive and not one to give up on a child easily. She uses her own experiences of school so that she can empathize with her students, and holds herself to the standard she expects to be taught herself.
