My general area of research is in teaching French and Francophone literature and grammar in a second language context to adults but I have also a four year experience in teaching French as a foreign language and a seven year experience in teaching techniques of expression including rhetoric and communication.
No annoyance in the classroom, neither for the students, nor for the teacher. That is the base of my philosophy of working, based on constantly keeping students interested in the course – which is unfortunately not obvious in the last few years, at least when working with teenagers who would rather “google” than read – by organising competitions and offering activities involving theatre, music and cinema.
I often use modern or classical movies which are useful not only for literary, stylistic and civilisation studies but also for developing critical thinking.
I promote creativity through literary creations such novels, poems or radio-dramas (for some examples, please, see (concealed information) and analysis through research and publication in French websites.
Permanent evaluation of the students so that they can get used to the exam and providing educational and psychological assistance, even after the courses, is also a part of my way of working.
I also encourage individual oral presentations followed by discussions – a practice that can be done at all levels.
I believe, as well, in the strong, friendly relationship between colleagues in order to work hand in hand for the welfare of the institution, the “francophonie” and the education in general.
I have been teaching French language and literature since 1997.
All of my students attended the colleges they wanted (Princeton, Harvard, McGill, University of Chicago, U Penn, Sciences Po)
Our results in IB ad French Bac are among the best, worldwide.
