About Zoe

I hold a B.A. in French Studies and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, inspired by my passion for language and culture. Over 8 years of teaching, I have helped students of all ages and abilities develop fluency, cultural understanding, and expressive confidence. I create lesson plans that balance grammar instruction, vocabulary building, conversational practice, and cultural immersion to foster well-rounded learners.

My teaching style emphasizes patience, encouragement, creativity, and adaptability. Lessons integrate reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural exploration, using interactive methods like roleplay, multimedia resources, and conversation practice. I encourage students to actively participate, take risks in speaking, and explore stylistic and idiomatic language.

Outside teaching, I engage with literature, media, and Francophone cultural studies to enrich lessons with real-world examples and inspiration. Witnessing students transform from hesitant speakers into confident, articulate communicators is immensely rewarding. My mission is to cultivate learners who can confidently navigate French in everyday, academic, and professional settings while appreciating its cultural depth.

About the lesson

French lessons are most effective when students learn language, culture, and practical communication together. I focus on grammar, sentence construction, verb conjugation, vocabulary development, pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, listening, reading comprehension, and conversational fluency. Lessons are designed to be interactive, supportive, and engaging, encouraging students to explore the language confidently while understanding its cultural context.

Beginners develop fundamental grammar skills, essential vocabulary, proper pronunciation, and the ability to hold basic conversations for daily interactions. Intermediate learners refine sentence structure, expand their vocabulary, improve listening comprehension, practice more complex conversation, and engage in structured writing exercises. Advanced learners focus on literary comprehension, nuanced conversation, professional correspondence, and stylistic writing. Lessons include roleplay, interactive exercises, authentic materials, and consistent feedback to ensure practical and academic proficiency.

Learning French also enhances critical thinking, communication skills, and cultural awareness. Students gain confidence in expressing ideas, understanding cultural subtleties, and participating in both social and professional contexts.
