About Amy

The best way to learn anything in life is by finding relevance in the process and by forming a connection with the subject. When it comes to language learning, well, it's a journey! One that I am happy to guide you along, to encourage and to challenge you (at times) not to give up. Having been on a language learning journey myself, I can certainly relate to certain pitfalls in language learning and suggest trusted techniques, including use of technology to help you avoid them.

About the lesson

I am an experienced French Teacher, holding QTS since 2016 and I have worked in secondary schools in UK since then. I am also a recently qualified Lecturer and I can deliver lessons to students of multicultural backgrounds and of a varied age range. Lessons are usually 1h30minutes, in the last 30 minutes focusing on a productive skill (speaking, writing) and/or a more creative task to help you apply everything you learnt in the first hour. I always address all four skills in language learning, along with grammar and vocabulary, and I strive to facilitate this also by use of technology. I believe in a communicative approach to language teaching which enables you to pick up language structures quickly and discover the culture behind the language. However, if you're a grammar passionate person, I can deliver that as well. Whether you are learning French for the very first time, preparing for your GCSEs, or would like to improve from a beginner to intermediate all the way to proficiency, I will do my best to support you by creating personalised lessons which directly target your weaker skills, aid retention and, hopefully, make it a fun experience!
