About Karolina

Salut! Je m'appelle Karolina et veux t'enseigner le français. Es-tu prêt à apprendre? Do you understand? If so, let's keep the conversation going! If not, no problem, I teach all levels of French and will meet you where you are in your learning. With over 10 years of French tutoring and 3+ years of high school French teaching experience, I'd love to work together to help you reach your language goals.

About the lesson

Teaching methodology and techniques:
These include adapting the lesson to suit the individual needs, age, and learning style of the student through diagnostic assessment and interest-based learning activities. I am also passionate about integrating French music into lessons for activities like counting, identifying colors, or practicing pronunciation.

A typical lesson plan:
The initial lesson is a free 15-minute opportunity to get to know you or your child's interests, learning needs, and expectations. It is also an opportunity to set up the first lesson goals and find a regular weekly or bi-weekly time to meet up virtually. Lessons are 50 minutes and are structured as such: warm-up (ex. review game of last week's lesson, take up homework), 20-minute lesson with practice included (ex. how to introduce yourself), review of the lesson (ex. discuss key concepts, such as how to conjugate verbs in the present tense), and homework to practice for the next meeting.

What sets me apart as a tutor:
I am a certified high school French teacher in Ontario, so I am very familiar with the curriculum and individualizing instruction to reach diverse learners.

Who the lessons are for (degree, level, class, specificities, etc.): Anyone (ages 5-99+) looking to develop and improve their French communication through a blend of listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities.
