About Stephanie

Hello ! I am currently studying in Cork, I love learning new things, staying busy and helping others.

I have a strong connection with France, having travelled there several times independently, as well as living there as an au pair with two different families and working in a restaurant. These experiences really helped me develop my French and confidence speaking it, beyond that of the classroom. I achieved a H1 in Leaving Certificate French.

I also have lots of experience working with young people and in customer service, and I enjoy creating a relaxed and encouraging environment for students to learn.

About the lesson

French Grinds & Conversation Practice

I achieved a H1 in Leaving Cert French and have spent significant time in France, including studying there, working in a restaurant, working as an au pair with children, and travelling throughout the country. These experiences have allowed me to develop a fluent and natural understanding of spoken French, as well as a strong appreciation of French culture.

My lessons are friendly, engaging and tailored to each student’s individual goals and level. Whether you are preparing for Junior Cycle or Leaving Cert exams, looking to improve your confidence in speaking French, or simply want to practise your language skills, I will adapt each lesson to what you need most.

What can we work on?

Lessons can focus on whatever areas you find most challenging, including:

Grammar and vocabulary
Oral and conversational French
Pronunciation and fluency
Listening and comprehension
Reading and written French
Exam preparation and exam technique
Building confidence in speaking
French culture and everyday language
What does a typical lesson look like?

I like to keep lessons interactive rather than simply working through a textbook. We might begin by reviewing anything the student has found difficult since our previous lesson, before focusing on a particular skill or topic.

For exam students, lessons can include oral practice, exam-style questions, written work, vocabulary building and targeted grammar exercises, with a focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference to their confidence and results.

For students who want to improve their conversational French, we can have relaxed conversations around everyday topics, while naturally introducing new vocabulary, correcting mistakes and improving pronunciation along the way.

Most importantly, lessons are tailored to the individual student. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and practising without pressure.

Lessons are typically one hour, and I offer both in-person lessons in Cork City and online sessions.

I also offer French conversation practice and support for French speakers looking to improve their English, particularly those who are living, studying or working in Ireland.
