About Kevin
I am a native French speaker with a Master's degree in Geography and a strong humanities background, including literary preparatory studies. I also have several years of tutoring experience and four years of experience working with teenagers in French middle and high schools.
This combination allows me to approach tutoring not only as an academic activity, but also as an opportunity to help students gain confidence, develop effective working habits and become more autonomous.

My approach as a tutor is based on three principles: understanding, methodology, and autonomy.
I believe that a student learns best when they understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students through questions, explanations, examples and practical exercises so that they gradually develop their own reasoning and become more confident and independent.
My teaching methodology
I adapt each lesson to the student's level, needs and objectives. Depending on the subject, I may use explanations, guided exercises, text analysis, discussions, quizzes, writing practice, or exam-style questions.
For French and literature, I can work on grammar, vocabulary, written expression, reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing and oral expression. For history and geography, I focus on understanding key concepts, organizing knowledge, building clear arguments and learning how to structure an answer. I also help students develop effective study and revision methods.
A typical lesson
A typical lesson begins with a short discussion to identify what the student already understands and what they find difficult. We then focus on one or two specific objectives. I explain the concepts when necessary, work through examples together with the student, and then give them exercises or questions that allow them to apply what they have learned.
At the end of the lesson, we review the key points and identify what the student should practice before the next session.
Who my lessons are for
I teach middle school, high school and university students, as well as anyone wishing to improve their French or develop their humanities knowledge.
I offer lessons in French, literature, philosophy, history, geography and study methodology, both online and in person in Montréal.
