About Noémie

I am a French who was born and raised in the South West of France. I now live in the UK - and it's been 7 years already!
Along with tutoring and supporting people in their learning journey of French, I am an artist based in Sheffield (Yorkshire Artspace).

Learning a language is a journey and I would love to share my knowledge as others did with me when learning English.
I am currently learning Japanese, so I know what it means to be a beginner and to think nothing makes sense (yet!). I am always challenging what I know of English, trying to learn a new word, a new idiom, some local slang etc. cause we can always learn more!
I understand more than ever the joy and motivation to learn a new language but also the difficulties you may have through your learning journey. It is part of the process, and it is so rewarding to overcome them!

About the lesson

I offer two options, you can choose either or both:

> 1-on-1 online or face-to-face lessons, to learn, improve and reach your learning goals at your pace and level.
(focusing on writing, vocabulary, speaking, listening, and exam)

> Group conversations and lessons, which are a great way to practice and improve oral comprehension while also gaining confidence in speaking!
(vocabulary, speaking, listening, and accent)

Depending on your needs you can choose which one suits you best or attend both as they are complementary!

I always try my best to create:
> Creative and playful lessons with clear learning goals (Let's have fun while we learn!) adapted to your level
> Lessons tailored to your needs and abilities, with your interests at heart!
> A dash of humour and a dash of seriousness makes learning or exchanging way more interesting and engaging!

The extras:
> My accent - yes! Originally from the South West of France, my accent is said to be "chantant!"
> Book exchanges - I love books, and I love exchanging books too! So my library is yours and I will happily let you borrow my treasures or get some from you. Par contre, mes livres s'appellent tous "reviens" ;)
> Group conversation can be an excellent social event, especially when face-to-face, at a cafe or a pub and even if the class is over, you can carry on and make some francophile friends.
> The face-to-face lessons can be at your place, mine or in a cafe, library etc. I am flexible.

I also:
> Helps/supports with correction, translation or revisions for any of you who are studying French at school, or university, exchanging with a French business or applying to a French institution etc.

As a note:

The first 1-to-1 lesson will help me pin down your needs and evaluate your level to tailor your future lessons accordingly.

For group conversation, just come as you are and get in the flow!

Face-to-face lessons, individual = £20/h (+£5 pertravel to student house)

5h discount: 5%
> £95 (excluding travel per lesson if conducted at student house: +£25)

10h discount: 10%
> £180 (excluding travel per lesson if conducted at student's house: +£50)

Face-to-face conversation, price per person = £10/session (1.5hour)
(only if there are at least two students)
