About Salima

I am an international student who speaks 5 languages with my native one being French. I was enrolled in the French system my whole life and was valedictorian of my class. I studied social sciences in French and English in a top university, Sciences Po Paris. I have always tutored kids and classmates as well as I believe it’s always better to get help from someone who is or was in your place recently and it creates a sense of bonding and understanding. I also believe that tutoring is one way through which students can feel more comfortable asking questions and diving deeper into their concerns, thereby helping their self confidence. I am now completing my last year of undergraduate studies at LSE, so my commitment to succeed is something I would like to pass on to the students I am tutoring. My academic and personal experiences have shaped me into someone who is organised, detail-oriented and collaborative, which are all skills that make my tutoring style very effective.

About the lesson

I do not have a one size fits all approach when it comes to tutoring. It is very important to know the needs of the student I am assisting which is why I take the time to know their strengths, weaknesses and their best way to learn. I do place an emphasis on practice as it makes perfect but every exercise and every form of teaching will be chosen to maximise the student’s learning. I also find that when it comes to learning a new language, it’s very important to widen the horizons and sources of knowledge through books, movies and shows which I I’ll recommend as a plus according to the students interests. I check in regularly with my students to make sure that if something isn’t working out for them we can change our approach with ease! For more information, feel free to contact me !
