About Savannah

Hardworking French Immersion teacher. Currently teaching French Immersion Social Studies, French Immersion Language arts, Post Intensive French, and a communication class.

I'm currently tutoring a few students in French at the elementary level.

Focus on student growth and enrichment. Fosters a welcoming learning environment where students can feel free to express themselves and share their thoughts. Develops strong rapport with the students and their families to encourage a lifelong commitment to learning.

About the lesson

As a teacher, it is my job to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for my students. The following statements I bring in the classroom and during my tutoring session.

Relationship Building, Encouragement, Support Growth, and listening.

Build Relationships

Building positive relationships with students is important in classroom management. Having a good relationship with students will let them know that I am there for them and will support them in their academic life and personal life.

Encourage

Students are in school to try new things and discover who they are. There is more than one pathway to get to the student's end goal. There is more than one way to finish an assignment. Encourage students to discover and explore these different pathways to success. Encourage students to finish their assignments in a creative way. Encourage student choice.

Support Growth

Each student is trying to figure out who they want to be when they grow up and what place they hold in society. Students must know that the path and challenges they face are not going to look the same as their classmates. Students need to know that the journey and lessons learned during their high school years are more important than the destination.

Listen

As a teacher, it is my job to listen to my students and provide what they need. Students are going through a lot and will probably not want to participate in an activity one day. Giving students the option to take a break and take their time is shows them that I see them, hear them and I’m here for them.
