About Max
I'm a graduate with a degree in Physics from Imperial College London. Through a mixture of hard work and passion, I managed to leave with a first class degree, which is of course a huge success, however I still know what it feels like to struggle to understand - and am excited to be able to help other students through this. I hope I can turn what can be for some people tedious and boring subjects into something more inspiring.
I have experience with tutoring and working with adults with learning disabilities, and am passionate about spreading knowledge and a love for learning to other people.

The exact content of a lesson will vary significantly with the student's level and needs. At the very start, I will make sure to do a needs analysis to work out exactly what the student wishes to gain - whether it be to pass their school exams, or to improve their general understanding of French.
At more advanced levels, for example, a lesson might be centred around a newspaper article or a chapter of a book. This is often a great starting point to learn new vocabulary and structures, as well as a canvas on which to start a conversation.
At lower levels, we might spend time attempting to run through simple role plays. Everything is tailored to the student's level and needs.
My background is in physics, however I have an A* in A-level French, and lived in Lausanne for one year of my degree - taking many of my physics-related exams in French. I understand the struggles that can come with learning a foreign language and have a passion for learning which I strive to pass on to my students. I know that learning about what you enjoy in a foreign language can boost your level significantly, so I like to find material which will interest the student. Languages are a tool for communication and learning, after all.
