About Molly
Hi, I'm Molly. What drew me to History was the ability to build a persuasive argument from evidence, and that's exactly what most students find hardest, not remembering facts, but knowing how to use them to actually answer the question asked. I bring a professional, reliable approach to every lesson, students and parents can count on me to turn up prepared, communicate clearly, and take the work seriously.
I achieved a 9 at GCSE History, an A* in History at A-Level, alongside A*s in Economics and Maths, and studied Economics at the University of Bath, where constructing a clear, evidence-based argument under time pressure was a constant requirement. I've also spent several years teaching sailing to students ranging from young children to adults.

History exams are won or lost on how well a student answers the actual question, not how much they know, so that's where I put most of the focus. We work on unpacking what command words like 'evaluate' or 'how far do you agree' are really asking for, structuring paragraphs so each one builds the argument rather than just describing events, and using evidence to support a point rather than just listing it. Lessons run 60 minutes, online or in person across Suffolk, and I regularly get students writing and marking answers under timed conditions so exam pressure feels familiar rather than overwhelming. I teach GCSE and A-Level History students of all abilities, from those who know the content but lose marks on structure, to those still building their confidence with the subject.
