About Eugene
I am a friendly and experienced art teacher with a strong background in fine art, museums and galleries. I currently teach children, teenagers and adults across community and studio settings.
My experience covers drawing, painting, mixed media and classical realism, as well as planning creative programs for different ages and skill levels. I enjoy helping complete beginners feel comfortable while also challenging more experienced students to strengthen their technique and artistic decision-making.
My teaching style is patient, adaptable and encouraging. I provide clear, practical guidance while helping each student develop their own interests, confidence and individual visual style.

My lessons are personalised to each student’s interests, goals and experience level. Whether you are a complete beginner, returning to art after a break, or hoping to strengthen your technical skills, I will help you progress at a comfortable but purposeful pace.
I teach drawing and painting across a range of styles, from observational drawing and classical techniques to more expressive and contemporary approaches. Lessons can cover proportion, composition, perspective, shading, colour mixing, portraiture and developing your own creative ideas.
For children and teenagers, I create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build skills without limiting imagination. Adult students can choose structured technical instruction, guidance with a personal project, or a combination of both.
My approach is friendly, patient and encouraging, but I also provide clear, practical feedback so that you can genuinely improve and become more confident in your own artistic decisions.
