About Nithya
Hi! I’m Nithya. I’m a current UC Santa Cruz student with a strong background in math and science. I’m a patient and encouraging tutor. I know that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand how each student thinks and adapt my lessons to their needs. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading and photography. I’m excited to meet new students and help them become more confident and independent learners!

In my lessons, I use slideshows, examples, videos, and games to make concepts easier to understand.
A typical lesson begins with a quick quiz to understand what the student already knows and find areas of confusion. We then set a clear goal for the lesson and work through the topic step by step. I usually show an example first, solve a problem together with the student, and then have the student try a similar problem by themselves. If a student gets stuck, I break the problem into smaller steps.
My lessons are for elementary and middle school students learning math, including students who need help with homework, test prep, or building confidence in math. I want every student to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because those are an important part of learning.
