About Lauren
I am currently studying towards a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics. The course has allowed me to develop a strong grasp of both subject/curriculum knowledge and the most up-to-date and effective teaching methods. I also have a year's experience as a teaching assistant in secondary maths lessons which gave me hands on experience of supporting young people in the classroom.
Previously in my career, I worked as an NHS doctor before deciding to follow my passion to teach; my background in medicine fostered a holistic and caring attitude which I find allows me to be a very understanding and supportive teacher.

I have a strong belief that all students are capable of achieving highly in mathematics; as such I strive to make maths accessible and engaging to all students, and to develop a supportive learning environment where misconceptions can be shared and explored. By doing so, students develop not only their understanding of the topic but also their ability to reason mathematically and solve problems.
I have most experience with the Key Stage 3 & 4 curriculum (ages 11 - 16), however I am also happy to support younger students (especially with transition to secondary school) and students studying up to A level.
