About Ayano

I’m Ayano, a native Japanese speaker who loves connecting with people and sharing Japanese language and culture! I grew up between Japan and several other countries, which helped me understand different cultures and communicate with people from many backgrounds. This experience is one of the reasons why I enjoy teaching. I believe that language is not just words, but a bridge between people!
I am currently studying at Waseda University, one of Japan’s leading universities, and I am now an exchange student at the University of Queensland. Living and studying abroad has shown me how exciting and meaningful it is to learn a new language, and I want to help others feel that same joy with Japanese!
I am friendly, patient, and easy to talk to, and I always try to create a relaxed atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to support you in a way that fits your pace, your goals, and your learning style—whether you want to learn basic Japanese, improve your conversation skills, or understand more about Japanese culture.
Teaching is meaningful to me because I love seeing students grow in confidence and enjoy expressing themselves in a new language. I would be happy to support you on your Japanese learning journey!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is friendly, patient, and personalized! I focus on helping students feel comfortable using Japanese, especially beginners who may feel nervous at first. As a bilingual native speaker, I can explain grammar and expressions clearly in English, which makes learning easier and less stressful.
I combine practical conversation practice with simple grammar explanations, real-life examples, and personalized materials based on your goals. Whether you want to learn basic Japanese, improve your speaking skills, prepare for travel, or study for JLPT N5–N3, I adjust the lesson to your level and pace.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes, but I can offer 45‑minute or 90‑minute sessions depending on your preference. Lessons can be held at UQ libraries, where we can use quiet study spaces, or online for more flexibility.
I am a native Japanese speaker from Waseda University, one of Japan's top universities, and currently an exchange student at the University of Queensland. I have lived in several countries, which helps me explain Japanese in a culturally aware and easy‑to‑understand way.
My lessons are suitable for complete beginners, intermediate learners, university students, travelers, and anyone who wants to improve their Japanese in a relaxed and supportive environment.
