Perfect! Steffan is my second cello teacher, and I’ve been taking lessons with him for about two years. When I started, I had a pretty basic understanding of the cello. Looking back now, I can honestly see how much I’ve improved since then.

He’s helped me become much more comfortable with the fingerboard, music theory, and all the terminology that used to seem overwhelming. I feel much more confident picking up new pieces now than I did when I first started.

I’ve also appreciated how flexible he is whenever I want to focus on a particular skill or have questions about something outside of the lesson plan. He’s always willing to adjust and make sure I’m getting what I need out of each lesson.

Steffan is easy to get along with, professional, and has a good sense of humor, so lessons never feel stressful or awkward. We still get a lot done each lesson, but they also stay enjoyable, which makes it easy to keep coming back and practicing. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone who’s thinking about learning the cello, whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience.

Perfect! I'm still a complete beginner, so my cello sometimes sounds like it's arguing with itself! Thankfully, my teacher is incredibly talented, patient, and somehow manages to turn all my squeaks into actual music. Every lesson is fun, and I'm learning more than I ever expected.
