About Abdul-Raheem
I really enjoyed maths as a subject at both A-Level and GCSE. I decided for my degree I wanted to pursue architecture which pulled me away from conventional maths, which is something I have come to really miss. I really like the process of navigating a problem and the satisfaction of getting the correct answer after a series of calculations have been made. As a tutor I will talk you through questions and tailor my advice to a learning experience that suits you as an individual. With studying maths it is really important to remember there are no silly questions and mistakes are a huge learning curve. I will try create an environment where students can openly ask when they do not understand or want something repeated, and where mistakes are not seen as a flaw but instead an opportunity to learn.

Hi I’m Heemi,
I am currently studying at Sheffield University for my Masters in Architecture. I studied Maths at to A-level and continue to study in an adjacent field.
I really enjoyed studying Maths at school and would love to pass on some of that enjoyment and enthusiasm through teaching.
With regards a lesson structure my Maths lessons will take a fairly standard structure. Initially running through a few example questions together on the topic that is causing issues, followed by a few set questions for the student to complete and discuss with myself. The questions will get gradually more challenging as the lesson progresses. The lesson will conclude with a series of questions set to be completed before the next session. These will be checked and discussed at the next session. The student will be encouraged to interrupt ask questions and flag up any confusion at any point in the session. The lesson should feel more like a discussion than a teacher telling a student what to do.
