About Jackie

I'm a recent graduate of Screen and Film School where I received a 2.1 BA (Hons) in Film Production, so I am particularly knowledgeable about cinema history, practical filmmaking and film theory. I studied Media Studies at A-Level (A) and GCSE (A*) for a total of 5 years and so am very confident in teaching this. I also work freelance in the film industry so if students are interested in this career path at all I would be happy to offer my advice! Because I'm a recent uni graduate, I am able to teach students in a fun and accessible way and relate to them in ways their older teachers might not. I am not an experienced tutor, but that is why my fee is lower than average and I offer a free trial session to get to know me. Every lesson is on a lesson-by-lesson basis and there is no pressure to buy a block of lessons. (Unless the student wants to of course!)

About the lesson

I give lessons to students up to and including GCSE level. My teaching methodology is to work with students in a way that works for them. We would have a free trial session, and discuss what they would like to get from our sessions and how they learn best. (If they don't know this - I can conduct a quick quiz to help them understand what kind of learner they are). Whether it be to help with homework they are stuck on, exam technique, or a specific topic they struggle with, I would create lesson plans around their strengths and weaknesses. If there is no specific need, I would create a broad lesson plan that covers the most important aspects of the subject in the time we have.

If you need to cancel a lesson, please do so a minimum of 6 hours before the lesson time, otherwise I charge a £10 cancellation fee.
