I base my methodology on the belief that it is important to practice both active and passive learning. Active—speaking and writing, and passive—reading and listening, encompass the major forms of a language. I tend to focus more on active because I’ve found as a learner that producing the language is what people typically struggle with the most, and I want to help my students combat that! Finally, I will always try to help students come to answers on their own before telling them directly, and I will offer students the option of class in only Spanish, in English, or a mixture of both.
I’m going into my junior year of high school this fall. I have been learning Spanish formally in school since before 3rd grade, have always had straight As in the subject, and have consistently been the best student in my Spanish classes. Although I am not a native speaker, I offer a unique learner’s perspective that enables me to better teach grammar, vocabulary, etc. to other students. I love learning languages with a passion and I would be honored to assist you in your own language journey!
